Senior Healthcare Support Worker, Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool Clinical Decision Unit/Hotline
Part time, Permanent post Hours: Rotational Shifts (including nights) - Long Days 08:00-20:30, Nights 19:45-08:15
The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s leading providers of non-surgical cancer treatment, caring for a population of 2.4 million people across Cheshire & Merseyside, North Wales, the Isle of Man and parts of Lancashire.
Together, working across three sites and operating specialist chemotherapy clinics in four of Merseyside’s district hospitals, we are able to deliver a comprehensive range of inpatient care, advanced radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies including gene therapies and immunotherapies. We also deliver a pioneering Treatment at Home and Work service; are the only facility in the UK providing low-energy proton beam therapy to treat rare eye cancers and host the region’s Teenage and Young Adult Unit, (supported by the Teenage Cancer Trust).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Healthcare Assistant to work alongside registered nurses to provide the highest possible standard of care for patients and families. CDU is a 10 bedded unit, running Monday to Friday. Our 24 hour Hotline Triage telephone advice line is a 24 hour a day, 7 day service. On CDU we care for patients who are experiencing side effects as a result of systemic anti-cancer treatments and radiotherapy treatment that require a medical assessment and possible admission to CCCL. The Unit accepts patients from both Solid Tumour and Haematological malignancy groups
The unit accepts patients requiring admission for management of side effects of systemic anti-cancer treatments and/or radiotherapy and symptom management. Patients requiring artificial airway management are also nursed on the Unit.
