Are you a Health Care Assistant working  within the NHS?

We have an exciting opportunity for highly motivated, hardworking, patient centred individuals to work within Respiratory Same Day Emergency Care as band 3.

You will be putting your years of experience as well as your high level of knowledge and skill to use helping to provide high level care to our service users.

Main duties of the job

Contribute to implementing and progressing of a range of patient treatment and care programs as delegated by a registered healthcare practitioner, and report back on progress. This may involve: - Making minor modifications to the care/treatment plan within prescribed parameters - Supervision of individual or group patient therapy sessions - Timetabling and, or running patient activities (e.g., outpatient clinics) - Participate as an active member of the healthcare team: - Organising own day-to-day work tasks (with support available) - Participating in on-going training and development, and maintaining skills necessary for the role - Contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the service - Provide day-to-day supervision and co-ordination of junior staff. - Provide support and shadowing to new HCSW on the ward to complete induction and Care Certificate - To provide supervision and co-ordination of junior staff in the department - Demonstrate skills to junior staff, providing practical training - Administrative duties including, admitting patient onto CareFlow, mail box management, and  booking patients into clinic appointment.  - Patient data entry into EXCEL document.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Work within own level of assessed competence and participate actively in training and assessment; take personal responsibility for booking and participating in all statutory & mandatory training required for the role.

Follow written policies, protocols/operating procedures and patient treatment/care plans, with support from registered healthcare practitioners available

Work at all times in a way that minimises the risk of infection (to patients and self) and maintains health, safety and security in line with established protocols (e.g. hand hygiene, use of Personal Protective Equipment)

At all times, maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality

Assess (through basic observations) patient health, safety & wellbeing before and while undertaking any activity or intervention, and respond accordingly

Provide concise, legible and accurate data and records of own work, handwritten and input to computer systems, e.g. Electronic Patient Record
