An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead, support and develop the Haemato-oncology Clinical Research Team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT). The team delivers a portfolio of academic and commercial clinical research studies and supports wider clinical trial activity across the organisation. While the primary focus of this role is the delivery of haemato-oncology clinical trials, the post holder will also be required to support the delivery of generic clinical research studies.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse, ideally with experience in both commercial and academic clinical trial delivery, who has recent experience of leading and developing teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of building a diverse clinical trial portfolio and supporting teams to recruit participants to time and target. Alternatively, applicants with a strong background in haemato-oncology nursing, including chemotherapy administration and toxicity management, and proven leadership skills are encouraged to apply, as the research specific elements of the role can be developed with appropriate support.
The post holder will be dynamic, forward-thinking and possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to increase clinical research activity within ESHT. As a Senior Clinical Research Nurse, you will contribute to the provision and ongoing development of a high-quality, specialist research nursing service, supporting participants and their families throughout clinical trial participation and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of all clinical trial-related care.
You will demonstrate a positive and proactive approach, maintaining high clinical and professional standards at all times. You will be self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively within the clinical research team, and capable of setting objectives while managing time and resources effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, alongside a strong commitment to supporting the Head of Research in increasing engagement, awareness and the development of a broad portfolio of clinical research trials and activity across the organisation.
Informal visits are warmly welcomed and encouraged.
