Job summary

Main duties of the job

To provide outpatient minor oral surgery for patients at clinic sites across Cheshire and Merseyside (Warrington, Halton & St Helens,Western Cheshire, Vale Royal and Sandbach) as required by service need.

Treatment typesinclude :

  • Management of acute infection

This list is not exhaustive.Treatment may be carried out using local anaesthetic with or without intravenous sedation (usually as operator-sedationist).

To provide advice andassistanceto other staff and referring practitioners asrequired.

To liaise with existing specialist senior dental officers over management of cases and service development, including the development and implementation of best practice within Clinical Networks.

To ensure referring practitioners receive adequate feedback following assessment and treatment of referred cases.

Toparticipatein undergraduate and postgraduate training programmes asrequired.

Toparticipatein clinical governance, peer review and audit asrequired.

To ensure all patient records are of a high standard and are keptin accordance withOrganisational Policies and local arrangements.
