We are seeking a motivated and skilled Senior Continence Nurse Advisor to join our Bedfordshire Continence Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dedicated, supportive specialist team delivering high-quality, evidence-based continence care across primary care settings.

You will manage a complex caseload of patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction, providing highly specialised assessment, diagnosis and treatment, including pelvic floor exercised, bladder scanning and neuromuscular electrical stimulation. Working autonomously while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in developing care pathways, promoting best practice and supporting education across the wider health economy.

Main duties of the job

This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your specialist knowledge and skills in continence care within a supportive and forward-thinking community service. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based bladder and bowel care across primary care settings.

You will manage your own complex caseload, providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment for patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction. The role offers the opportunity to be involved in service development, education delivery, health promotion and innovative projects that enhance patient experience, clinical outcomes and cost-effective prescribing across the local health economy.

Experience in adult community nursing and continence care is desirable.

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated practitioner who has the confidence to support, coach and develop colleagues to deliver consistently high standards of care. You will act as a clinical resource across primary and secondary care, influencing practice and promoting best evidence-based approaches.

Excellent communication, clinical reasoning and time management skills are essential. You will need a flexible approach to meet the evolving needs of the service, alongside the drive and enthusiasm to contribute to ongoing quality improvement and service development.
