At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

In relation to Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker roles, we are currently able to recruit successfully from the domestic labour market and have a sufficient pool of suitably qualified and appointable candidates. As a result, visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time. This position is kept under regular review and may change in the future should labour market conditions or service requirements alter.

Interviews

If you are shortlisted for an interview for this role, you must bring evidence of the following qualifications:

• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English.

If you hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications, you will need to bring an ECCTIS comparability statement for your GCSE equivalent qualifications along with your original certificate

• A Full Care Certificate OR NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (we can only accept NVQ’s from a regulated awarding body).

If you do not bring the above qualifications to your interview, then the interview will not proceed.

Main duties of the job

The cardiothoracic surgical team at the Royal Stoke provide coronary artery bypass grafting, heart valve surgery, aortic surgery, and lung surgery. We also receive patients with chest trauma as part of the regional Trauma Centre status of UHNM.

Cardiothoracic Surgery Ward is 32 bedded with 8 level 1 bed and 3 pre op trolley areas providing pre and post elective and emergency cardiothoracic surgical patients and thoracic chest trauma patients. It is a busy, fast-paced clinical environment with daily turn over of patients.  We are looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic support worker to join our team and advance their skills as a Band 3.

As a Senior Clinical Support Worker you will be working under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will be able to perform the jobs which are outlined in UHNM job description for Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker. You will also be able to perform, setting up chest drain trolley, catheterisation  trolley, Negative Pressure Wound therapy trolley.
