At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration regulations.

In relation to Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker roles, we are currently able to recruit successfully from the domestic labour market and have a sufficient pool of suitably qualified and appointable candidates. As a result, visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time. This position is kept under regular review and may change in the future should labour market conditions or service requirements alter.

Interviews

If you are shortlisted for an interview for this role, you must bring evidence of the following qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English.

If you hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications, you will need to bring an ECCTIS comparability statement for you GCSE equivalent qualifications along with your original certificate

  • A Full Care Certificate OR NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (we can only accept NVQ’s from a regulated awarding body).

Senior Clinical Support Worker,  Surgical Special Care Unit

Main duties of the job

The primary role of a Senior Clinical Support Worker is to assist, support and work in collaboration with the Registered Nurse and the wider multi-disciplinary team, in order to provide a safe and holistic approach to person centred care.  The Senior Clinical Support Worker should actively contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients, staff and service users and be able to communicate effectively with sensitivity and compassion.  Working independently within their sphere of nursing while under the supervision of the registered nurse.

The Surgical Special Care Unit at the University Hospital of North Midlands is a 14-bedded dedicated facility which provides excellence in care to both elective and emergency surgical patients requiring level 2 nursing.
