You will demonstrate leadership in the stroke speciality and provide specialist advice on medicines use. This will include professional collaboration to develop services and to support the team with evidence-based practice and pharmaceutical issues.
You will be involved in building relationships between pharmacy and the ward team and a key part of the role will be to deliver the governance agenda, teaching, quality improvement, service development and sustainability. We will support the successful candidate with mentoring and development opportunities including practicing as an independent prescriber, advanced/ consultant portfolio development and other further education opportunities.
You will provide leadership to other pharmacy staff and will support the Lead Pharmacists in moving the trust's pharmacy strategy forward. You need to be able to work autonomously, whilst motivating others and being a team player.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
