Job overview

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and dynamic fellows to join us and further their career through our Anaesthesia and Critical Care Fellowships at Southend Hospital.

You will get an opportunity to work across all specialties and will act  as out of hours cover for theatre, Obstetrics and ICU at a middle grade tier level. The duties include doing a full shift 1:8 on call rota covering any of the 4 tiers on the on call rota. The rota is fully compliant with national medical workforce guidance and the banding is 1A.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited to apply for a trust Clinical Fellow post in Anaesthesia and Critical Care.

Clinical Supervision is shared between all consultants and you will be provided with a dedicated educational supervisor. The successful applicant will be expected to work towards competencies, participate in departmental meetings, simulation, audit and quality improvement projects and clinical governance.

The post will be tailored to your educational needs with opportunities to develop their clinical skills and mentoring will be offered. The successful candidate will be able to gain experience in the following areas:

  • Perioperative Medicine
  • Education and Simulation
  • General Anaesthesia
  • Regional Anaesthesia
  • Resuscitation and Transfer
  • Pain
  • Intensive care Medicine

These are fixed term appointments for a period of 12 months; there may be opportunity to extend the job by mutual agreement.
