An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Sleep Medicine service at Guys & St Thomas' Hospital.

The Sleep Disorders Centre is seeking a full-time Senior Clinical Fellow to join a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking team. There will be a commitment to out-patient and sleep diagnostic reporting activity for the department.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a first-class team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment.

This is a fixed tern post for 12 months.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will, together with colleagues, be responsible for the provision of sleep medicine services to the Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust to include:

(a)        Diagnosis and treatment of patients of the trust in such hospitals, health centres or clinics or other premises as required.

(b)        Continuing clinical responsibility for the patients in your charge, allowing for all proper delegation to, and training of, your staff.

Clinical duties will include, but is not limited to (see timetable below):

  • To provide out-patient direct clinical care to patients with sleep disorders
  • The appointee will be expected to undertake regular sleep clinic sessions, to review patients after sleep studies, and to support ongoing audit and research activities within the Sleep Disorders Centre.
  • To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care
  • To participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training
  • To participate in research and clinical audit
