A typical week includes 2 operating days, 2 clinic days and at least one half day for research.

Applicants must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice, possess the FRCS (Orth) or equivalent and have previous experience in paediatric orthopaedics.

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) is a national centre of excellence in the provision of specialist children's health care, currently delivering the widest range of specialist care of any children's hospital in the UK. GOSH and UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health form the largest paediatric research and teaching centre in the UK.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be assigned to a consultant once appointed and will work predominately with one/two consultants. It is expected that you will assist with other clinics and theatre lists as appropriate.  Applicants are encouraged to discuss the timetable and duties with the current post holder and the consultants on appointment.

This timetable contains essentially all the activities currently taking place within the unit. The postholder will be encouraged to take part in all the activities offered within the department, particularly the theatre lists when clinic commitments permit.

Currently, the post holder is on a non-resident on-call rota, which meets both New Deal and EWTD.
