Job overview
The posts will be 12 month fixed term posts. The posts will be based in Medical specialties at West Middlesex Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust.
This is an exciting opportunity for a post Core Training (CT) Doctor interested in a career in Medicine to join the service and develop leadership skills.
The main parts of the post involve the care of inpatients under the relevant medical specialty, general and acute medicine oncalls (posts with no oncalls can also be considered), working in clinic and outpatients, and performing the regular functions of a Medical Registrar.
You will be part of a Consultant led team of other registrars and junior doctors and participate in daily Board rounds. There will be consultant ward rounds of new patients, with SpR led ward rounds of existing patients. There may be opportunity for interested individuals to carry out supervised outpatient clinics and MDTs. The post holder will participate in the General Medical on calls or Acute Medical on calls at SpR level. Leave will be accommodated and you will have time to develop a specialist interest.
The SCF will liaise with the consultant and nurses to allocate the day’s activity appropriately.
The SCF will be expected to assess and manage patients with the support of the consultant and using appropriate clinical guidelines.
There are multiple multi-disciplinary meetings between doctors, nursing staff, and specialist teams for the care of patients.
Main duties of the job
The basic terms and conditions of the post are in line with the Medical & Dental Staff (England & Wales), and General Staffing Whitley Council handbooks as amended from time to time. This includes granting of study leave
- Salary: {£33,790.00 - £53,132.00} per annum
- London Weighting Allowance of £2,162 per annum
- The appointment is full-shift
- It is a condition of the appointment that staff shall complete a health questionnaire before commencing their duties and the Occupational Health Department will subsequently arrange a health interview
- All medical staff are required to be registered with the General Medical Council
- i) You will be indemnified by the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for all NHS work undertaken as part of you Contract of Employment
ii) You are encouraged to take out adequate defence cover as appropriate to cover you for any work which does not fall within the scope of the indemnity scheme (contract of employment)

For those posts where there is management or supervision of other staff it is the responsibility of that employee to ensure that their staff receive appropriate data training (e.g. HISS induction, organising refresher sessions for staff when necessary).
