The Royal Free Hospital Intensive Care Department is looking for a motivated Senior Clinical Fellow.

This post would be ideal for a candidate wishing to gain experience in Intensive care medicine and the recognition and management of the critically ill patient. You will be well supported by our dedicated team of ICU Consultants.

The total throughput of patients is excess of 2800 per year. Senior medical cover is provided by a large team of consultants, who provide a 24-hour cover worked in blocks to provide continuity of care.

We would welcome candidates who have at least two years of accredited core medical or anaesthetic training to the level of CT2 or equivalent. Candidates will be expected to have passed the MRCP or the Primary FRCA. Applicants should be able to demonstrate an interest in medical education and minimum of 3 months experience in intensive care medicine is essential.

The post is best suited for the following candidates:-

  • ICM, Anaesthetic  or medical resident doctors looking to take time out of programme
  • Doctors considering a stand alone ICM senior clinical fellow post
  • Post CCT Trainees looking to develop their experience of ICU

Trainees considering an out of programme experience would need agreement with the relevant Specialty Training Committee and Deanery

Post-Graduate education is a key priority for the department with over 100 Resident doctors rotating through our ICU every year.  There are a small group of Consultants with a special interest in Education and Training. There is a dedicated teaching programme which delivers ICU teaching weekly on a broad range of ICU relevant topics, ICU Radiology teaching and ICU Journal Club.

The RFH ICU treats over 2800 patients a year. There is a large consultant body and team of resident doctors. We are a welcoming, supportive and inclusive team aiming to deliver World Class Care and outstanding clinical outcomes in a rewarding and harmonious working environment.
