Job overview
Please note that this vacancy will close when we receive sufficient completed applications.
The Senior Clinical Fellow posts in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and critical care are based at The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
The posts are agreed for six months initially with potential for extension subject to review. These posts are ideally suited to senior anaesthetic trainees in possession of the FRCA (or equivalent) who are looking to gain further experience in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and critical care medicine and are considering a career within the specialty.
Clinical experience will be afforded by time spent in both cardiothoracic theatres and intensive care unit. There are a significant number of transferrable skills for all areas of anaesthetic and critical care practice that can be developed through experience with cardiothoracic surgical and critically ill cardiology patients. These key skills will be invaluable in the safe management of sick and unstable patients as one progresses through training positions of increasing seniority. We also encourage and support the development of skills and accreditation in critical care ultrasound as many of the Consultant body are both TOE and FUSIC mentors/supervisors.
