JOB SUMMARY
To support the Principal Clinical Physiologist in providing a patient centred, high quality, safe and efficient Cardiac Investigations service which adheres to the values of the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust. To perform and supervise specialised cardiac investigations including Exercise ECG testing and ambulatory monitoring, analysing and reporting investigations.
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Delivery
To perform CP led Exercise ECG testing whilst ensuring patient safety and including interpretation of results, production of written reports and reporting significant findings to the referring physician
To analyse and report Ambulatory Holter and Event and ECG monitoring
To record and analyse Ambulatory Blood pressure monitoring
To carry out adult and paediatric resting electrocardiography
To assist during transoesophageal echocardiography as required
To assist during stress echocardiography as required
To assist in working towards meeting reporting and waiting list targets
Quality
Checking and authorising band 5 reporting, taking part positively in regular audit of team and own performance
To participate in the delivery of training to students and other health professionals
To perform investigations to the relevant professional and quality standards
To participate in research and audit as required
To maintain voluntary professional registration with the Registration Council of Clinical Physiologists or the Academy of Healthcare Science and to promote the profile of the profession and good clinical practice.
To actively participate in maintaining own continuing professional development and professional registration, identifying own development needs in conjunction with the professional lead Physiologist
To adhere to all relevant Health and Safety Policies
To adhere to all Trust and Departmental Policies and procedures

To act as an exemplary role model for junior staff, treating staff and patients with dignity and respect at all times
To ensure that the department interfaces with the public, patients and other departments in a professional and productive manner

To supervise and lead basic grade, students and cardiographers in a professional manner including leading by good example and high quality clinical practice
To participate in the department duty rota
To communicate with all groups of staff within Cardiology to ensure dissemination of information and effective links with other disciplines, wards and departments in the Trust.
Promote ideas and suggestions for improvements in care for patients attending the Cardiac Investigation Unit.

First line equipment management, including evaluation and appraisal and good record keeping
