An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer to join our friendly and progressive Pharmacy team at Prince Philip Hospital.

You will be an extremely valuable member of the pharmacy team, your duties will include;

  • supply of stock to wards and departments
  • dispensing medicines for in-patients and outpatients
  • support the co-ordination of discharging patients
  • support the pharmacy medicines management team at ward level

You will be a strong confident team player, demonstrate professionalism at all times and be committed to your development and the development of the services that we provide to patients.

We are committed to developing the role of Senior Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officers within the Pharmacy Department and are increasing their involvement within the service delivery.

Our Pharmacy team is forward thinking and continually strives to improve the delivery of patient focused pharmaceutical care and optimise the use of medicines within the Health Board.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work within a team of Senior Technical Officers, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists in providing a wide range of Pharmaceutical Services within the hospital setting.  You will be given specific training to help develop your skills.

Applicants must hold 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C or above and NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in Pharmacy services is essential.

To perform a variety of tasks to support the pharmacy teams within the Health Board. Roles may include working in the following areas: Distribution, Procurement, Dispensary, and Ward Based Services.

The successful candidate will be involved in working on a weekend and Bank Holiday Rota.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
