Job overview

We are excited be able to offer this post for a highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our service to gain more experience within the field of bariatrics and complex weight management using ACT/CBT based approaches. Our trust is situated in Hackney and serves a socially complex and diverse population locally and across northeast London and Essex areas. Our aim is to deliver clinical excellence translating to real improvements in physical and emotional wellbeing and quality of life for all our patients, utilising behavioural change approaches, medical and surgical intervention and innovative practice.

The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in working within a multi-disciplinary setting, carrying out assessments and delivering psychological interventions, in the practical application of clinical governance and in supporting patients with long term conditions.

In addition to the 0.5 WTE Band 5 Senior AP post, the selection process will also seek to recruit an additional candidate for a Band 4 0.5 WTE AP post.  Candidates will be asked to state if they wish to be considered for both posts at the interview.

Main duties of the job

  • To carry out assessments and deliver treatment under supervision
  • To manage digital, telephone and face to face contact with patients who may present with psychological, social and physical health complexities and who may be reluctant to engage with care offered
  • Attend and contribute to MDT discussions
  • To provide support to MDT colleagues by undertaking data collection, clinical audits, research and review of evidence base, the production of reports and summaries and use of computer packages for the processing and analysis of reports and data
  • Support the delivery of intervention groups and individual treatment
