We are looking to recruit highly motivated individuals keen to develop their skills within Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) (Health Visitor). You will need to be a current NMC registrant in any branch of nursing or midwifery and meet the academic requirements of the university.
If successful at shortlisting, you will be offered a face to face interview at a practice base, the interview will be in two parts the first part will be a discussion and a review with you of your portfolio. Please ensure that you bring along your portfolio (electronic or paper file). The second part will be with a panel for interview questions.
Main duties of the job
You will undertake the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing Course (Health Visitor) commencing in September 2026 (date to be confirmed) at Wolverhampton University. Currently they are offered as a blended approach.
The course is full time over 52 weeks with 50% of your time being academic study and the other 50% will be practice experience within a Public Health Nursing Service 0-19 HCP 0-19 Telford Team. Some annual leave is set by the Universities and will be non-negotiable, there may be two weeks within the summer semester where there will be some flexibility regarding annual leave, however this will be in negotiation with your placement lead. Students are employed on a fixed term contract for the duration of the course. These roles are subject to funding from Health Education England.
