Corner Place Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive primary care team in Paignton. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated clinician who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient-centred care within a modern general practice environment.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services to our registered and temporary patients while working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to maintain the highest standards of clinical care and patient experience.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will undertake a wide range of clinical and administrative responsibilities associated with general practice, including:

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Undertake face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations, triage calls and home visits in accordance with the Practice timetable.
  • Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions.
  • Provide appropriate treatment, advice, counselling and health education to patients.
  • Respond to medical problems presented by temporary residents where required.
  • Develop and implement care plans in line with Practice disease management protocols.
  • Support the management of chronic disease conditions and preventative healthcare initiatives.
  • Refer patients appropriately for further opinions, investigations and interventions in accordance with Practice protocols.
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and appropriate consultation records.
  • Prescribe safely and effectively in line with local and national prescribing guidance.
  • Process repeat prescriptions, pathology results, clinical correspondence and associated paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the education and training of medical students where appropriate.
  • Undertake all duties expected of a GP working within primary care.
