An exciting opportunity has become available for a passionate and proactive individual who thrives in supporting children and their families. The successful candidate will join the Safeguarding Support Unit, home to the Child Sexual Assault Assessment Service (CSAAS).

As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, the Crisis Worker will deliver tailored clinical support to children aged 0–16 and their families.

This specialist role focuses on providing compassionate care during acute, forensic, and non-recent assessments where concerns or allegations of rape or sexual abuse have been raised.

The Crisis Worker will participate in the CSAAS on call rota, which operates every day of the year, including weekends and holidays.

About you

  • Experience of safeguarding children
  • GCSE A-C English or Level 2 equivalent and GCSE A-C Maths or Level 2 equivalent.
  • NVQ level 3 (Childcare related or MH certificate or equivalentqualification)

Main duties of the job

Reporting into the Nurse for Safeguarding Children and adults, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting paediatric clinicians during assessments and examinations
  • Supporting the collection and handling of forensic evidence
  • Ensure the child’s immediate aftercare needs are met with sensitivity and professionalism
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including Healthcare Support Workers, to deliver trauma-informed care.
  • Undertake clerical and administrative tasks, including accurate data entry and maintaining service records.

Please note that Sheffield Children's uplift pay to meet the Real Living Wage, which is £12.60 per hour.
