The Safeguarding Specialist will play a key role in providing expert, evidence‑based safeguarding advice, leadership and support across North Cheshire and Mersey (NCM). Working autonomously and in close collaboration with clinical teams, senior leaders and external partner agencies, the post holder will ensure robust safeguarding practice across adults, including the application of the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and Mental Health Act.
The role focuses on promoting high standards of patient‑centred, trauma‑informed care through education, audit, incident review, service development and quality improvement. The Safeguarding Specialist will contribute to serious reviews, policy development and Trust‑wide safeguarding strategies, deputising for the Head of Safeguarding when required, and acting as a trusted expert resource to staff at all levels.
