Job summary

How does a 10-month fixed term contract in transplant and cardiac surgery sound? Enticing? Exciting? Both things? Then this is the job for you. We would love you to come and join a friendly, innovative team passionate about patient care.

We welcome applications from current Band 6's and experienced Band 5's with a passion for transplant and cardiac surgery, with experience in acute care across multiple specialities, who are motivated to learn and progress. Clinical support will be provided by senior staff, with a dedicated mentor.

Candidates should:

Have a BSc, MSc or Grad Dip in Physiotherapy, be HCPC registered, have great communication & interpersonal skills.

Be able to provide a comprehensive Physiotherapy service to patients with a wide range of cardio-respiratory conditions in all settings.

Be able to build on developed Physiotherapy skills & consolidate specialist skills in transplant and cardiac surgery.

Main duties of the job

Become part of our innovative team covering inpatient and outpatient services including our on-call, twilight and weekend working provision.

Main duties will include:

To effectively manage own clinical caseloads, and support others daily and prioritise workload accordingly.

To undertake an independent comprehensive, assessment of patients who have a wide variety of clinical presentations with a range of complexities.

To actively participate and lead sessions in team and departmental learning opportunities including in-service training (IST) sessions, clinical supervision and education.

To participate and lead with relevant audit, service improvement projects (SIP), and research with support from senior staff.
