We are looking for a dynamic and motivated occupational therapist with excellent communication skills and an innovative and flexible approach.  You must be a team player with a broad range of student experience.

This role has 6-month rotations across a range of specialities including: Surgery, Orthopaedics, Oncology and Haematology, General Medicine, Rehabilitation and Neurology.

The rotations are across several sites including University College Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. In some rotations staff will be expected to participate in 7-day services or weekend working.

We have a strong commitment to staff development and service improvement providing regular supervision and in-service training. Please only apply if you have a degree result and have your HCPC registration or it is pending.

Main duties of the job

• Provide high quality Occupational Therapy input including assessment, treatment and advice to patients in a variety of settings
• Demonstrate strong communication skills with a range of stakeholders including patient’s family members and MDT
• Provide patient centred care to ensure a holistic and individualised treatment/intervention is delivered
• Perform safe manual handling tasks, fitting and delivery of ADL equipment, and basic IT skills.
• Participate in evidence-based audits and service development projects in conjunction with the Senior Therapists (OT/PT) in order to ensure high standards of care & service development are maintained & improved.
• Show time management and prioritisation skills to effectively manage own caseload
• Responsible for accurate and timely documentation in line with RCOT and trust guidelines

• Be an integral member of a team assuming delegated responsibilities for supervision of students and assistant members of staff as required.
