Band 6, 5 Months Fixed Term Contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Therapy Team at Hillingdon Hospital.
We are seeking a band 6 Rotational Occupational Therapist to join our friendly, integrated inpatient therapy department. The therapy department is the third largest staff group within the Trust and is widely respected. As a Rotational Occupational Therapist, you will play an essential part in the assessment, treatment, and discharge of patients. You will work closely with the patient, their support network, and Multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve a positive outcome.
The 9-month rotations include The Stroke Unit, Acute Older Adults, Frailty, The Acute Medical Unit and Medicine and Surgery Teams. During the rotations, you will be given opportunities to consolidate existing skills and be supported to further develop clinical and non-clinical skills. We are looking for clinicians who have a passion and experience of working in an acute, physical health setting.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Clinical
Responsibilities and key result areas to include: Key Relationships: • Multidisciplinary colleagues • Community colleagues • Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists working across the Inpatient Integrated Therapy Teams
Direct reports: • Band 5 rotational therapist • Therapy assistant (s)
Main Tasks and Responsibilities Clinical • To autonomously complete the OT process with patients including: o Comprehensive assessment of need o Provide individualised and specialised treatments to patients on your caseload, which will include a variety of physical, cognitive, and psychological conditions. o Lead and facilitate on patient discharges with arranging package of care, providing equipment and community support.
