Our Portering Services team provides essential support to ensure NHS Orkney runs safely and smoothly. Porters work across our various departments, carrying out deliveries and collections, supporting stores activity, and responding appropriately to incidents or security issues.
We’re looking for a reliable, flexible and self-motivated individual who takes pride in supporting others and keeping services running smoothly. You’ll have good communication and customer-care skills, be able to stay calm in challenging situations, and work confidently both as part of a team and on your own initiative. Confidentiality is essential, along with the ability to manage your time effectively and adapt to changing priorities at short notice.
This post will be based at The Balfour
The successful candidate will work on a Relief, as and when required basis.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.

The salary for this post is Band 3 and if residing on Orkney, you’ll also receive a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,719 pro rata per annum, adding extra value to your rewarding career with us.
