Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to become an expert in delivering safe, effective and efficient person centred care to acutely unwell older people? Are you passionate and committed to delivering high standards of care with kindness and compassion? Are your excellent communication and interpersonal skills accompanied with a high level of motivation and pro-activeness? Then you are exactly what we are looking for to join our newly energised Acute Medicine for the Elderly team.

We value our workforce therefore investing in your continuous professional development is our priority. Supporting this means we align your clinical knowledge and practice to the competencies outlined in the Older Peoples Framework which is key, to delivering high standards of care. We recognise that the wealth of knowledge, expertise and experience you bring with you will help shape a dynamic, effective and efficient service for older people, their carers and family members living in Tayside.

Acute Medicine for the Elderly currently encompasses four areas; The Acute Medicine for the Elderly (AME) West (Ward 33), The Acute Frailty Unit (AFU), The Acute Medicine for the Elderly Assessment Unit (AME) East (Ward 16) and Ward 5.

We know that providing care to older people living with, or experiencing frailty along with multiple complex health and social care needs is challenging which is why we are introducing a brand new nursing workforce/footprint and need nurses to be a part of this exciting change.

Our wards embrace a multi-disciplinary approach to delivering the best care experience possible for patients, their families and carers therefore successful candidates would be expected to participate in current improvement initiatives on the ward and support auditing of the quality of care we deliver.
