Job overview

As a Registered Nurse working in private maternity unit, you will be responsible for supporting your Midwife colleagues in ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high quality care and evidenced based practice.

We are able to provide our patients with excellent quality and high standards of care. We are continually enhancing the service we provide and have recently commenced a range of holistic services with bespoke packages to our patients to further enhance the care that we provide. We are also continually developing ideas and ways to expand and develop our maternity services in partnership with our consultants. We are looking for an exceptional candidate with at least 1 years’ experience as a band 5 Nurse. You must have good organisational and a keen interest in working with mothers and babies, sound clinical knowledge and be adaptable and flexible to change. If you are interested in developing your theatre and recovery skill and are able to provide care to newly delivered mothers and their babies then this may be the exciting new challenge you have been looking for.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide care to women and their babies in the operating theatre, maternity recovery area and postnatal ward
  • Assesses care needs and develops implements and evaluates programmes of care working collaboratively with midwifery colleagues
  • Prepares and assembles theatre equipment and instruments when required
  • Ensures safety of the environment including stock levels and storage of equipment and medicines
  • Provides support to students/learners within the unit
  • Works collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team members in maintaining standards of woman centred care in relation to perioperative, postoperative and postpartum management while adhering to maternity policies and guidelines
  • Maintain a high standard of professional expertise to ensure safe and evidence based care is provided in specific area
