Job overview

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our dynamic Orthopaedic Outpatients Department. This role is ideal for a nurse with a keen interest in musculoskeletal care who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred services.

As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through various stages of their orthopaedic journey. You will be responsible for the efficient running of outpatient clinics, including pre- and post-operative consultations, trauma follow-ups, and ongoing care. The role involves the assessment and management of surgical and trauma-related wounds, application and monitoring of orthotic appliances (e.g., splints, braces), and ensuring safe, evidence-based nursing care is delivered at all times.

You will also contribute to the development of future nurses by providing mentorship and support to student nurses during their clinical placements, fostering a positive learning environment.

This is a varied and rewarding position requiring excellent clinical skills, adaptability, and strong communication abilities. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams including orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and plaster technicians to ensure holistic care for patients.

We welcome applications from Pre-Registered Nurses
