The post holder will need to demonstrate a genuine interest in Ophthalmology, working in all aspects of service provision in a variety of clinical settings
The post holder will be required to undertake training, demonstrate commitment to providing a high quality service and strong team working.
A flexible approach to work and the ability to multi-task are essential to the role.
Using own initiative have a problem solving approach to address any issues which may arise, escalating concerns to senior staff when appropriate.
Ensures own appraisal is completed in a timely manner and works towards achieving agreed objectives.
Develop an awareness of self, the knowledge of the limits of own competence and seek help and advice appropriately.
Identify any knowledge gaps and fully utilise the learning opportunities available in order to facilitate continued professional development and the re-validation process.
Promote a safe clinical environment for all patients, visitors and staff.
Recognise patients changing condition and seek the appropriate support and advice from Senior Staff.
Keep up to date with clinical developments and standards, i.e. RCO and NICE guidance.
When competent perform complex patient assessments, Biometry, Angiography, OCT scanning, visual acuity, assist with Minor ops and general observations of the Ophthalmology patients.
Ensure clear and contemporaneous notes of Patient Care are documented accurately.
