We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, dynamic nurse who can demonstrate commitment to the provision of high-quality person-centred care.
You will be required to be exemplary role models, working collaboratively with senior members of the team, including the ward manager, matron and lead nurse.
As a registered nurse within the discharge lounge responsible to the Nurse coordinator /Senior sister caring for patients and their carer’s, providing high standards of care for patients as part of a multidisciplinary professional team and to be responsible and accountable for the assessment and planning care for designated patients
Contract hours available:
- hours you will work 3 long days a week and one 4 day week over a period of one month, however we would consider a 34 hour week. This is a Mon-Sunday service
Main duties of the job
We care for patients with a wide range of health conditions, providing excellent opportunities to develop strong clinical skills, broaden your knowledge, and work closely with a multidisciplinary team.
Your main duties include, although are not limited to:
- Assessing patients and monitoring vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition
- Administering medications and treatments including IVs, injections, wound care
- Developing and updating care plans based on patient needs and doctor orders
- Collaborating with healthcare teams such as allied health and medical professionals, nursing workforce and administration teams.
- Operating medical equipment and responding to emergencies when needed
- Educating patients and families, including explaining conditions, medications, and home care
- Keeping accurate medical records and reports up to date
- Advocating for patients considering their safety, comfort, and appropriate care or reasonable adjustments
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To work as a registered nurse within the discharge lounge responsible to the Nurse coordinator /Senior sister caring for patients and their carer’s.
- Promotes and maintains positive and effective links of communication with patients, their carer’s and visitors to the Trust.
- Record the nursing care given, evaluating its outcome in terms of achievement of the objectives, modifying care documentation accordingly and become involved in audit / quality setting work of the department.
- Carry out holistic needs led assessments, with responsibility for team or onward referral as required, acting as the care manager for identified individual service users.
- Carry a phone and respond accordingly to the needs of the service, often changing planned activities.
