Come and join our Trauma and Orthopaedic Family. We are a close knit team that is excited to welcome you. We all work well together to care for patients who have had a musculoskeletal injury or disease. Due to COVID 19 our departments have had to adapt to ongoing change and some wards now have a new location, some even a new mix of patients. We are an excellent team with a vast amount of knowledge and experience, with support systems in place ready to give you the best start to your nursing career.
THE WARD CAVOC ward looks after 29 patients who are having elective orthopaedic surgery. They care for day surgery patients and in patients, from hand surgery to total knee/ total hip replacements. The ward thrives off a planned pathway for patients starting their discharge planning pre operatively. The department has Charles Radcliffe ward for inpatients and Gilbert Bay for the day case patients. The pace is efficient and entails early mobilisation, a bespoke care and effective anaesthetic, intensive rehabilitation, forward thinking discharge planning and utilising the multi disciplinary team. We have regular in house training sessions, utilising the knowledge of the different members of the multidisciplinary team and regular opportunities for you to express new ideas as we are passionate about service improvement. We are looking for a kind and caring nurse who is passionate about providing the best care possible to their patients. We are a fantastic family that enjoys teaching and supporting new staff to reach their potential. Shift patterns are traditionally 12 hours days and nights but with flexibility where needed. We look forward to welcoming you to our team. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
