Job overview

The aim of the role of R&D Coordinator is to enhance the overall set up and delivery of clinical research within the Trust by providing support to the R&D Operations team, by assisting with clinical and administrative activities related to research projects, from initiation to termination, in accordance with Good Clinical Practice guidelines.

The R&D Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the R&D Operations Team by assisting with a range of administrative and clerical duties including ensuring accurate records are kept and maintained for all new and ongoing research studies.

In addition the post holder will assist the R&D Operations Team by managing departmental trackers for a range of recurring tasks, including report writing and invoice scheduling.

Main duties of the job

The postholder's main duties will be providing administrative support to the Research Operations Team. This will include ensuring that data on the R&D departmental database is accurate, managing accurate electronic research records and study folders and managing invoice trackers.

The postholder will also supporting data transfer requests, produce reports  and assist with audits.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Maintaining project level data on EDGE (the trust’s local portfolio management system)
  • Maintaining R&D Operations research study electronic folders  and working files
  • Maintaining a tracker of research study invoices to be raised
  • Assisting with transfer of source data into electronic data capture systems
  • Assisting with management of study amendments
  • Attending meetings and minute taking as required
  • Assisting with audit preparation
  • Assisting with the filing of research material such as laboratory and imaging reporting
  • Supporting expressions of interest (EOIs)
  • Correct storage of research consumables including monitoring use by dates and reducing excess storage
  • Procurement of supplies
