Job overview
The Radiotherapy Physics department at Sheffield is looking for two HCPC-Registered Clinical Scientists to join our friendly, dedicated team at one of England’s largest radiotherapy centres.
The radiotherapy department at Weston Park Cancer Centre provides radiotherapy to around 4,500 patients annually from a catchment population of 2 million on eight linacs.
We have two dedicated CT Simulators and a number of our patients have pre-treatment MR scans, as we expect to acquire our own MR Simulator shortly.
Two Varian Halcyon linacs with Hypersight were installed into new bunkers last year, and we have two Truebeam linacs being commissioned currently, both with Hypersight and RapidArc Dynamic.
The Dosimetrists within Radiotherapy Physics provide treatment plans with Eclipse for all sites including a wide range of SABR treatments.
We have a in-house engineering section who provide all servicing and maintenance on the radiotherapy equipment.
Our gynae brachytherapy service is about to move from a pulsed dose-rate regime to HDR.
We have an exceptional record in IT developments within radiotherapy including many tools which help us streamline and manage the pre-treatment processes.
We have excellent relationships with all our colleagues, including the Gamma Knife radiosurgery team, and in Nuclear Medicine, and colleagues in Leeds and Hull.
