Job overview

We are recruiting for a Part time , 24hour position working Monday, Wednesday and  Friday to be discussed.

Office Hours are from 8am until 7pm, you will be required to work until 7pm once a week on a rolling rota.

A rotational Saturday shift is also required (approximately 1 in 6)

Are you interested in working as part of a team to provide a full clerical service to the x-ray department? This will involve receptioning patients-booking them onto the departmental computer system, filing and making appointments as well as acting as a clerical coordinator in our CT control room.

In the X-Ray Department it is how you go about your duties that matters to us. You should be enthusiastic, self motivated and have excellent communication skills to be able to work well with all levels of staff and members of the public.  Full training will be given.

Flexibility in hours worked will be necessary to cover annual leave/sickness.

Main duties of the job

  • The service is provided over an extended working day and with some weekend working.
  • To book radiology patients into the departmental CRIS system verifying patients personal details and directing the patient to the correct waiting area.
  • Co-ordinating transport patients, liaising with patient and carers a time to attend, rearranging transport home.
  • Dealing with enquires over the telephone and in person
  • Makes appointments as required following protocols for plain film and DEXA images working to radiology waiting times.
  • Deal’s with enquiries from patients regarding appointments, refers to admin co-ordinator/manager if unable to resolve.
  • To act as co-ordinator in the CT department, scheduling ward and Inpatient scanning times, requesting exams to be authorised, answering the phone.
  • Able to organise own workload.
