Job summary
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for performing quality assurance checks on x-ray equipment throughout the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and for our external customers. Duties include routine x-ray quality assurance and investigations, as well as working both independently and alongside colleagues to perform acceptance tests, critical examinations and fault investigations. Additional duties include analysing patient dose data to support optimisation of exposures, performance testing and arranging external calibration of test equipment, development of spreadsheets and test protocols and maintaining documentation relating to our Quality Management System. Frequent travel across Yorkshire is required and you should have your own means of transport.

The Radiological Physics & Radiation Protection Service provides scientific, technical and radiation protection advice and measurement services for ionising radiation and non-ionising radiation, including support for diagnostic radiology, ultrasound, lasers and other artificial optical radiation sources to a number of NHS Trusts in West & North Yorkshire and private clients. Medical Physics and Engineering operates under a BSI registered ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, has an extensive research portfolio and opportunities for collaboration with the University of Leeds and other organisations for research and technical development/innovation.
