Pathology Quality and Safety Officer

Band: 5 - £32,073 - £39,043 Per annum, pro rata
Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and organised individual to join the Pathology team as Pathology Quality and Safety Officer. Milton Keynes University Hospital is accredited to ISO 15189:2022. The post holder will play a key role in supporting the delivery of a high quality, safe, and compliant pathology service, ensuring compliance with ISO 15189:2022 and wider regulatory frameworks. The post holder will collaborate with Blood Sciences, Microbiology, Cellular Pathology, Point of Care Testing and the Mortuary. Working closely with the Pathology Quality Manager and broader laboratory management team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS), support audit and governance processes, training and quality improvement initiatives across all pathology disciplines. Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Pathology QMS
Support quality improvement projects across departments
Coordinate audits, monitor compliance, and track actions to completion
Manage and investigate incidents, including root cause analysis and reporting

You will have experience working in a medical laboratory
You will have knowledge of quality management systems and ISO 15189:2022 standards
Experience with Quality Management System software (Q-Pulse, or similar) is desirable
