Job overview

Are You a Psychological Therapist or Core Trained Professional Who Wants to Make a Difference to Personality Disorders and Complex Emotional Needs Care Across Coventry and Warwickshire?

Come and Join PACT

We are looking to recruit a Psychological Therapist, to support our service users, their families/carers and professional teams.

Exciting investment at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) allows us to expand our existing Forensic Community Mental Health provision through a number of posts across PACT and the Forensic Community Health Team (FCMHT). This ambitious, 2-year project is backed by significant funding and is focused on transforming mental health services for people who are a risk to others. Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) is an integral intervention for our service users, and we are excited to pilot the provision in the service.

What We're Working On:

  • Setting up a dedicated clinic space within a local remand prison
  • Improving the transition pathway from secure care to community services
  • Embedding forensic specialists into each Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)
  • Providing consultation and formulation support to staff and services
  • Creating a co-production forum for collaborative service development
  • Offering targeted therapeutic interventions in the community
  • Delivering comprehensive forensic training for all CWPT staff
  • Leading research on community forensic services to shape future care

Main duties of the job

Who We Are Looking For:

We're seeking a passionate individual who values working with those with complex mental health needs. Whilst forensic experience is desirable, it is not essential. The role involves providing an MBT provision, including both client-facing work and supporting with team processes. Ideally, applicants should have completed MBT Basic Training and have or be working towards accreditation as a practitioner, although training can be provided to otherwise suitable candidates. As a pilot service, the therapist will be responsible for evaluating the efficacy of MBT in a community forensic mental health service, with support from clinical leads.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and enthusiastic work environment with a focus on growth
  • Weekly team supervision to ensure ongoing professional development
  • Generous opportunities for CPD, tailored to your interests and career goals
  • Roles that match your skills and strengths, ensuring you thrive in your position
  • A chance to be part of a transformative project that will shape the future of forensic mental health services
