Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the AMU Flow Nurse and Nurse in Charge (NIC) in a progress chaser capacity, overseeing the monitoring of the AMU and ED whiteboard to ensure patient flow is efficiently managed. The role involves tracking potential four-hour breaches and liaising with the capacity team to ensure bed availability is effectively managed.

Additionally, the post holder will assist with facilitating timely discharges by monitoring any delays in outstanding investigations or treatments that could hinder discharge. They will escalate these delays as necessary to ensure prompt and safe discharges, contributing to the smooth running of the AMU and the overall patient care process.
