Job overview

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to work with families across Rotherham in partnership with RMBC, employed and supported by RDaSH. The post holder will offer advice and consultation to staff within the new Empower Service, which supports fostering and kinship families where difficulties may affect placement stability, as well as families progressing through reunification. The role includes direct therapeutic work with children and delivery of trauma‑informed training.

There are opportunities to develop approaches such as DDP, NVR, Theraplay and therapeutic parenting. Work is mainly with Rotherham‑based families, with some travel to neighbouring areas and flexible/home working.

Within Empower, the Clinical Psychologist will help understand the ongoing impact of early adversity and identify additional needs (neurodevelopmental, educational or familial) to ensure appropriate therapeutic pathways. The work will inform future service development within RMBC. Close links with CAMHS offer access to a wider network of clinical psychologists.

  • Providing expert advice, consultation and training to internal and external partners.

About Empower:
