Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Counsellor minimum diploma level to work within the Primary Care Mental Health Counselling Service.

This 1 x 15 hour post will provide a service in Wrexham and Flintshire east area. The clients will have been referred to the service by the Prescribed Medication Support Service and the Local Primary Mental Health Support Services. The referred clients have mild to moderate mental health problems.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of a team to deliver short term sessions to clients in tier 1 mental health services using a range of counselling modalities that the post holder will have had training in and an integrative approach. The post holder will be offering face to face sessions to clients in clinics but can also offer a blended approach as required using telephone/online. The role expects a high level of record keeping, attending supervision and keeping CPD up to date. You would be expected to attend managerial and multidisciplinary meetings and support the development of this service.
