The successful applicant will receive Sim Facilitation training and funding contribution toward a (non-university) teaching qualification. This position requires a postgraduate medical professional at an FY3+ level with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a keen interest in medical education.

Main duties of the job

  • Develop and implement tailored teaching programmes for return-to-training trainees and locally employed doctors, particularly international medical graduates.
  • Facilitate simulation support, primarily for foundation training.
  • Provide guidance on communication skills, understanding of the NHS system, and aid in the UK integration process for international doctors.
  • Potentially support junior doctors in managing their portfolios.
  • Carry out clinical duties one day a week, in a speciality aligned with the applicant's interests.
  • Liaise and collaborate with various key stakeholders including the Director of Clinical Education, FYTPDs, Clinical Tutors, and others.
  • Engage in self-development, including Sim Facilitation training and completion of a teaching AoME accredited qualification.
  • Regularly assess the needs and expectations of the trainees to ensure the teaching programmes remain effective and relevant.
