The appointment is to commence April 2026 for a fixed term period of 6 or 12 months. Our fellowships can be recruited into 1-2 years in advance. Successful candidates will also be considered for future fellowship posts to start in October 2026, April 2027 & October 2027 for 6–12-month periods depending on their availability and stage in training. FRCS (T&O) or equivalent is essential at time of commencement in the post.
The post does not award a National Training Number. As this post is not recognised as a ‘training post’, full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required. The duties of this post are equivalent to Post CCT/equivalent.

This post will provide the trainee with an opportunity to work in an active, well-recognised unit with a good record of presentations and publications.
In addition to extensive exposure to the management of Major Trauma, the trainee will gain significant experience in use of circular frames in the acute and reconstructive management of fractures, non-unions and malunions. The Unit applies over 150 Ilizarov frames per year for both trauma and reconstruction cases.
