Job overview

We are pleased to advertise a new whole-time post (12-month duration) for a fellowship in Diagnostic Neuroradiology at North Bristol NHS Trust. The successful candidate will join the team of 9 Diagnostic Neuroradiology Consultants providing neuroimaging for both adult and paediatric patients.

In addition to tertiary neuroimaging, the DNR team at NBT supports multiple adult and paediatric local and regional MDTs, allowing the post-holder to become proficient in Neuroradiology, but also providing plenty of opportunity to develop a particular subspecialist interest.

North Bristol NHS Trust also provides a comprehensive 24/7 stroke service. The post-holders are also expected to provide cover for acute neuroimaging both in and out-of-hours under the supervision of the consultant body.

Main duties of the job

Applicants are required to be on the Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology, have CCT in Clinical Radiology or be within six months of obtaining it by the interview date. Full Registration with the GMC is essential.

The current fellowship aims to provide the successful candidate with an excellent educational environment to develop their neuroimaging skills and allow them to take a consultant post in a tertiary neuroscience centre

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

These posts are not recognised for training by the Specialist Advisory Committee in Radiology and do not have postgraduate deanery approval. Candidates must have, or be eligible for, GMC registration that allows them to work in posts that are not recognised for training. It is desirable that candidates have experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices or equivalent.
