Job overview

Are you passionate about community engagement and helping people achieve their full potential? If so, we are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive community-focused individual to join us as a Positive Action Engagement Officer to help promote our careers.

In this role, you will be at the heart of our efforts to build stronger connections with diverse communities, primarily across Merseyside, with some outreach in South Greater Manchester. By being a part of our Positive Action Team, you will help raise awareness of NWAS career opportunities amongst groups that are under-represented in the trust and play a key role in helping build a workforce that truly reflects the range of communities we serve.

If you are a people-person, with strong communications, engagement and organisational skills, this could be the role for you.

Main duties of the job

As a Positive Action Engagement Officer, you will reach out to and engage with communities and groups which are currently under-represented in our workforce, and will provide support in bringing their talent, experiences, and expertise to roles within the trust.

You will also build new, and strengthen existing, connections with the voluntary, community and faith sector, and organisations who support individuals into employment, promoting the trust as an employer of choice and raising awareness of our career opportunities.

You will support careers and community events and organise the delivery of a range of innovative careers-focused activities. You will provide information, advice and guidance to prospective applicants, and signpost them to additional support to improve their chances of obtaining employment within the trust.

This role will involve regular (weekly) travel across Merseyside, and you will occasionally be required to support activities in other areas of the trust too. Opportunities to work from home will be limited. A full driving licence and access to a car is required.
