Main duties of the job
The Portering department plays a crucial role in the hospital's operation, facilitating the movement of patients and various items throughout the Trust to ensure the hospital functions smoothly every day of the week.
Hospital porters are responsible for transporting patients, equipment, and other medical supplies between different areas within the hospital. They are vital for maintaining the seamless operation of the facility. A significant aspect of their role involves patient care, as they transfer patients to and from various locations, such as moving them from the ward to the x-ray department.
