We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is professional, reliable and flexible to join our friendly and hardworking team in the Point if Care Testing Department at Rotherham Hospital.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all the Point of Care Testing responsibilities within the Trust from the Laboratory perspective. In addition they will provide the essential link between the host Trust and the Laboratory and be a key member of the existing Point of Care Testing oversight committee. They will also be actively involved in the development of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Network Point of Care Testing Service.
The successful candidate must be registered with the HCPC (or equivalent) and have previous experience working in an NHS Point of Care Testing environment.
Supervise and participate in the work of the assigned POCT Sub Section.
Plan and organise day to day running of POCT sub section. This will include work prioritisation, and allocation of staff, liaising with other sections as necessary.
Writing and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures for the laboratory, reviewing periodically and ensuring they follow best practice.
Ensure that, where possible, POCT procedures are in accordance with current ISO quality standards in order to work towards achieving full UKAS accreditation.
Participate in the Recruitment and Selection process.
Attend all relevant departmental management and performance review meetings.
To advise on the suitability of future POCT, including the provision of technical advice, suitability assessments and cost/benefit analyses. This will involve liaison with clinical and non-clinical staff.
To monitor performance of POCT equipment across the site and take appropriate action as necessary.
