Podiatry Assistant – Tilehurst Clinic, Reading Band 2 (Band 3 -when qualified) Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Do you have a caring personality, relate well to people, and enjoy working with your hands, then this could be the job for you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as part of the podiatry team. This is a developmental post where you will undertake a program of training over a 2-year period. On completion of this program, you will be eligible to be upgraded to a Band 3. You will provide foot care, foot health education and individualized care programs as directed by the Podiatrist for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs.

You should have a good standard of general education and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience of working in a caring role would be beneficial, however on the job training will be provided to enable you to fulfil the requirements of this role.

The post holder will be based in Reading and will be required to travel between clinics and visit patients in their own homes therefore a driving license and own transport is essential.

Enhanced DBS Certificate will be required.

Main duties of the job

About the Job

To work as part of a locality podiatry team whilst undertaking a training programme specific to foot health and Podiatry. To work as directed by the Podiatrist, in clinics, hospitals and patients homes to provide high quality clinical care.

To provide foot health education and individualised care programmes as directed by the referring Podiatrist for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs. Most commonly, care will be provided for patients who suffer from metabolic, vascular or neurological disorders that place the lower limbs in a compromised situation.

Working pattern + Service operating hours

The post is 0.6 wte (22.5 hours)

The Team’s current operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8.45 am to 5.15pm but we encourage you to get in touch if you wish to enquire about flexible working
