Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a part time Band 3 Physiotherapy Support Worker to join our inpatient physiotherapy team at Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan in Ebbw Vale.

We are seeking a strong team player with excellent communication skills, displaying the ability to effectively manage time and priorities.

You will be based on the general rehabilitation wards and will work closely with the team of physiotherapists providing rehabilitation for patients during their inpatient stay, optimising their functional recovery and facilitating safe discharges into the community.

Main duties of the job

The post is predominantly clinical. Under the delegation of Physiotherapists you will support patients rehabilitation journey. There is opportunity to hold your own delegated case load of patients exercise plans.

There will be an element of non-clinical duties attached to your role. This will include supporting with audits, basic administration and housekeeping duties, stock taking, and using computer based systems i.e. ordering of walking aids.

The Physiotherapy Service encourages staff development; you will be supported to complete the Agored Level 3 Diploma In Physiotherapy Support, which will enable you to manage your own designated caseload, delivering interventions under the supervision of a Physiotherapist.  We have a structured personal appraisal system in place with annual reviews underpinned by the Knowledge and Skills Framework.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
