Job overview

We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist to join the Acute Intervention Team at the Royal Liverpool Hospital as a Band 7 Team Leader.

This role is suited to a Physiotherapist with strong leadership skills and an ability to deliver high quality, patient centred-care within a fast paced acute hospital setting.

You will work closely with other Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Team Leads within the Acute Intervention Team, as well as working collaboratively with the Team Leaders across the wider Hospital Therapy Services.

The Team is well integrated within the Hospital MDT and with external system partners. You will support the delivery of the assessment,  treatment and effective and timely discharge planning of patients.

The team covers a broad range of specialities including Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Gerontology, Diabetic Medicine, Renal Transplant, Gastroenterology and Palliative Care

The service operates over 7 days and the successful candidate must be able to work flexibly and innovatively to meet demand

Main duties of the job

  • Undertake assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations using advanced clinical reasoning skills.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, carers, and other health  care professionals.
  • Manage the caseload and prioritise and delegate patients as appropriate.
  • Work closely with other members of the team in the multi-disciplinary service.
  • Effectively supervise, support and develop junior Physiotherapists, Assistant Practitioners and Therapy Assistants.
  • Collaboratively lead the Acute Intervention Therapy Team with support from peers and the Therapy Lead.
  • Help drive the quality of the service and maintain standards
  • Help drive clinical improvement
