Job overview

To provide Physiotherapy assessment and treatment interventions for a specified service user group, to carry a caseload as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and to develop the Physiotherapy service provision within the setting.

Main duties of the job

To plan and implement individual and/or group interventions, in collaboration with the service user, using appropriate interventions to achieve therapeutic goals.

  • To undertake Physiotherapy assessments for a designated caseload, addressing all areas of complex physical health as appropriate with support where necessary.
  • To work with service users to identify Physiotherapy goals as part of the overall care plan.
  • To be responsible for the use of appropriate outcome measures in your clinical work to effectively evaluate physical outcomes for the service user and the Physiotherapy service.
  • To assess service users understanding of interventions, gain valid consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework with service users who lack capacity to consent to treatment.
  • To maintain accurate and timely record keeping in line with legal, professional and Trust requirements.
  • To carry out assessments and manual treatments of service users with moderate physical effort and to comply with the Trusts Manual Handling Policy at all times.
  • To work in a lone environment visiting service users at home, assessing and managing risk.
